Teachers of Hope
What Makes Teachers of Hope Different
This is a 3 year program where teachers serve as both educators and missionaries. Teachers work with kindergarten students (ages 3-6) and get connected to their church plant, investing in children, relationships, and growing the local church.
Spiritual and Vocational Formation
The program centers on discipleship, forming teachers to live out and share their faith in communities and equiping them for education and missions.
Opportunities and Location
Teachers of Hope currently operates in Germany with established and developing locations in Frankfurt and Hanover, and plans for future expansion. Each site integrates education with local missional presence.
What the Role Looks Like
Teachers will teach kindergarten while also participating in church planting through relationships, missional communities, and outreach. They receive mentoring, training, and active involvement in church plant.
Missional Learning Community
Teachers are supported through an intentional learning community that offers training, coaching, spiritual care, and guidance in developing missional initiatives, ensuring they do not serve alone.
Career Impact
Teachers of Hope will provide a paid teaching experience in Germany that provides a cross-cultural teaching and church-planting experience, strengthening both their professional credentials and missional preparation.
Financial Transparency
The first year includes an internship-level salary and health insurance. After qualification certification, teachers will receive a full salary aligned with German pay scales.
Logistical Support
Teachers of Hope provides language training, housing assistance, and help with relocation, with support from Kirche Am Start.
Honest Conversations
The program is challenging and transformative. Participants should expect cultural adjustment, spiritual growth, and missional work that shapes them.
